Modern farmhouse with modern AGA

Ms. Rutty’s contemporary farmhouse kitchen was an exciting challenge. She wanted to keep the farmhouse feel of the property, but wanted a modern usable kitchen space.

We designed the kitchen around the new AGA fan oven and built an oak oven canopy from reclaimed timber over the AGA. The canopy incorporated the extractor hood, to match the existing oak beams and lintels.

The cream coloured units were chosen to match in with the walls and the tiles and blend exactly with the colours of the AGA. The kitchen was finished with solid oak worktops and a Belfast sink. This kitchen gives a brand new feel, with all the mod cons, yet keeping all of the characteristics of the property.

  • In complete contrast to the first kitchen, this brand new kitchen was fitted in to a period building. It was styled to give that farmhouse effect but with the luxury of all the modern kitchen units and appliances.

  • To give that perfect farmhouse feel we fitted an original AGA that is styled to look like the classic, but is in fact a modern fan assisted oven with a 6 ring gas hob.

  • This kitchen benefits from a real York stone floor and solid oak worktops to match the real oak lintels and AGA surround. The chequered pattern black and cream tiles again tie the kitchen's main feature, the AGA, into the room perfectly.
