In the weeks leading up to Christmas 2011 we had our loft converted by Oxon Conversions and we have no hesitation in warmly recommending the firm to anyone considering similar work on their home. From the first time Greg Lester came round for a preliminary discussion on the possibilities he impressed us with his quiet confidence and ability to listen and understand our ideas and to respond to these in the light of his professional expertise and experience. Broad plans and estimates were agreed at the beginning, but there was flexibility over the detail during the course of the work. When we requested additional work such as shelving and decoration, this was added into the master plan, with clear pricing. The work was completed on time and on budget.

The whole job was managed by Greg with impressive efficiency. The work has been completed to a very high standard, and we are delighted with the way in which the roof area, until recently simply providing useful storage, has been seamlessly incorporated into the living space of our home.

The members of the team of builders were impressive not only for the range and quality of craftsmanship they displayed, for their hard work and commitment to the job, for their respect and care around the home, but also for their manner of work. They were unfailingly courteous, patient with questions and willing to fit around the family timetable when requested. They were a pleasure to have around. We have been impressed with all aspects of the service provided by Oxon Conversions, from initial site visit and discussion of various options, through design and subsequent building of our loft conversion. When we needed more space and wanted to extend into our loft, there was not an obvious solution: several companies came up with disappointing designs. Greg addressed the challenge with original and imaginative ideas, coming up with a plan to remove the old roof and construct a new one to a different design and with a steeper pitch. We now have an amazing space at the top of the house; two lovely bedrooms and a bathroom, all with terrific views.

Throughout the build process Greg kept the project at full pace, showing his abilities as a project manager as materials, equipment and personnel arrived on schedule. Greg’s own craftsmanship and professionalism sets a high standard for the rest of the team - the whole crew were hard-working, respectful and obliging. Problems were dealt with swiftly, the site was kept tidy and disruption to family life was minimal. The centrepiece of our conversion is the beautiful oak staircase, with every piece individually cut to fit, constructed in a sweeping curve that utilises space ingeniously. We are truly delighted with the results.

Greg, Jack, Ian and all the team worked hard on our extension. They worked well within the time frame given to us of 3-4 months and arrived 7.30 every day and stayed until the schedule for that day was completed. Even the local villagers commented on how hard they all worked and could not believe how early they started working and how late they finished. This helped us as we could meet the builders before we went to work and after we returned from work. This allowed for any changes or adjustments to be made straight away keeping both of us happy. They are group of hard working builders that we would have no hesitation in recommending or having back to do future work.
